Drugs to Avoid in Pregnancy

A

Certain antibiotics: tetracyclines, aminoglycosides, sulphonamides and
trimethoprim, quinolones
-
- ACEi/ARBs
- Statins
- Warfarin
- Sulfonylureas
- Retinoids (including topical)
- Cytotoxic agents
AEDs (consider epilepsy risk plus risk to baby): valproate, carbamazepine and
phenytoin are known to be harmful

- Use carbimazole only at low dose in pregnancy or propylthiouracil

○ Lithium
○ Amiodarone
○ MTX
○ BZDs
○ Aspirin
○ Sulphonamides
○ Tetracyclines
