What are the advantages of the legislative process?
A
- Democratic.
- Acts of Parliament can reform whole areas of law in one Act.
- Acts of Parliament can also set broad policies and give power to others to make detailed rules.
- Before a Bill is presented to Parliament there will have been consultation on the proposed changes to the law.

How is the legislative process democratic?
A
- Parliamentary-made law is made by our elected representatives, making it democratic.
- Parliament is answerable to the electorate, as a general election is required at least once every 5 years.
- A government can be voted out of office if it has no performed as the electorate expected.

What is the advantage of whole areas of law being able to be reformed in one Act?
A
- Makes law simpler to find.

What Act was reformed in order to make law simpler? How did it do this?
A
- The Fraud Act 2006.
- Abolished all the old offences of deception and fraud.
- Created newer and simpler structure of offences.

What is the advantage of Acts of Parliament setting broad policies and giving power to others to make detailed rules?
A
- The general structure is laid down by Parliament.
- Also allows greater detial in the law than if it was just contained in an Act of Parliament.
