quid pro quo
A favour or advantage granted in return for something.
Eg ; The politician was quid pro quo with his friend.
catch-22
A dilemma or difficult circumstance from which there is no escape because of mutually conflicting or dependent conditions.
Eg ; This situation was an endless problem. A catch-22
Epitome
A person or thing that is a perfect example of a particular quality or type.
Eg ; Bob is the epitome of dogs as he has all the dog like qualaties
Dichotomy
A division or contrast between two things that are or are represented as being opposed or entirely different.
Eg ; We were studying the dichotomy between science and religion
Myriad
A countless or extremely great number of people or things.
Eg ; Their is a myriad of trees in the forest
Credence
Belief in or acceptance of something as true.
Eg ; I did not give his theory any credence
Malaise
A general feeling of discomfort, illness, or unease whose exact cause is difficult to identify.
Eg ; He was feeling malaise and went to the doctor
Sycophant
A person who acts obsequiously towards someone important in order to gain advantage.
Eg ; Some sycophants were refusing the corruption of the politicians
Dilettante
A person who cultivates an area of interest, such as the arts, without real commitment or knowledge.
Eg ; You would think she knows a lot about nutrition, but shes just a dilettante
Zenith
The time at which something is most powerful or successful.
Eg ; The roman empire was in it’s zenith in the 117AC
