Generativity versus stagnation
The filling life goals that involve family, career and society
Successful is the ability to give and care for others. Unsuccessful is self absorption, inability to grow as a person.

Intimacy versus isolation
Establishing intimate bonds of love and friendship. Successful is the ability to love deeply and commit oneself.
Unsuccessful is emotional isolation, egocentricity
Mallows hierarchy of needs
Self actualization, hope, spiritual well-being, enhance growth
Self esteem, control, competence, positive regard, acceptance/worthiness
Love and belonging, maintain support systems, protect from isolation.
Safety and security, protection from injury, promote feelings of security, trust in nurse /client
relationship.
Basic physiological needs, airway, respiratory effort, heart rate rhythm and strength nutrition, elimination
Nutrition
Food energy on board equals energy spent. Too much food in and too little energy spent is obese. Too little food in, to much energy out is anorexia
For major minerals/electrolytes
Calcium, Hardness of bone/ teeth
Magnesium, aids in transmission of nerve impulses. Needed to relax muscle fibers. Helps hold calcium in tooth enamel.
Potassium. Helps to control fluid balance, helps transmit impulses along nerves and muscle fibers.
Sodium. Maintains fluid balance. Helps transmit impulses.
Major electrolytes normal values
Sodium 136 -145 in mEQ/L
Potassium 3.5- 5.0 in mEQ/L
Calcium 8.8-10.3 MG/DL
Magnesium 1.6-2.4 mEQ/L
During pregnancy
Need for folic acid intake, first trimester protein and calcium and third trimester Iorn supplements
Leafy green vegetables in moderation for which client
Client on warfarin therapy, matter of time before a clot forms and causes another stroke
Vitamin K
Helps with blood clotting and bone metabolism. Warfarin therapy watch closely to make sure client is getting enough vitamin K. Maybe on this therapy after surgery because they are on a total bed rest, because blood pulls in class and can form a clot
Vitamin D
Promotes hardening of bone/teeth. Increases the absorption of calcium and phosphorous
Vitamin a
Helps to form skin and mucous membrane. Essential for night vision. Promotes bone and tooth development
Vitamin E
Prevents damage to cell membrane. Antioxidant
Water-soluble, vitamin B complex
Thiamin, niacin folic acid vitamin B 12 biotin vitamin B6
Vitamin C
Helps with collagen synthesis. Helps with iron absorption. Immune system. Antioxidant.
