What is an advertisement?
Ads want people to spend money on products or services

Appeals ask the audience to do something, usually made by charities or governments, asking for donations or volunteers.
What is a PSA (Public Service Announcement)?
PSAs tell us how to take care of ourselves, each other, and the spaces around us
What are logos and slogans?
Logos are visual representations of an organization’s identity or brand. Slogans are short, catchy phrases that make an advert’s message more memorable.
How are images used in advertising?
Images are used to visually engage a reader’s interest and influence their point of view, with connotations implying ideas or feelings the advertiser wants to associate with the image.
Why are charts and diagrams used in advertisements?
Charts and diagrams present lots of facts and statistics in a clear and simple format that the audience can easily understand.
What is anaphora in advertising?
Anaphora is the repetition of a word or phrase at the beginning of successive clauses, often used for emphasis.
What is imagery in advertising?
Imagery involves using descriptive language that appeals to the senses, helping the audience visualize the message.
What is the use of color in advertising?
Different colors can evoke different emotions and associations, such as red for urgency or passion, and blue for trust and calm.
How is font style used in advertising?
Font styles can convey different tones and moods; for example, bold fonts can indicate importance, while cursive fonts might suggest elegance.
What are rhetorical questions in advertising?
Rhetorical questions are questions asked to make a point rather than to get an answer, often engaging the audience and provoking thought.
How do you determine if a poster is an ad, appeal, or PSA?
