Voluntary Termination of Parental Rights
the voluntary surrendering of parental rights.
Involuntary Termination of Parental Rights
where the state seeks to end the parental rights of one or both parents when living with the parents places the child in danger.
On what grounds can the state move to terminate parental rights?
infliction of serious physical harm; abandonment; neglect/deprivation; failure to provide support; mental health of the parent that results in inability to care for the child; or parental unfitness.
Can one parent move to terminate the rights of the other parent?

Agency Adoption

Private Adoption
private persons act as intermediaries to arrange an adoption.
