The time in your life where you change from a child into an adult.

Physical changes and emotional changes.

Puberty.

9-14.
Why does puberty need to happen?
The reproductive system needs to develop so that the person can have children if they choose to.

Pubic hair and underarm hair grows.
Body smell becomes stronger.
Emotional changes occur.
Growth spurt.

What causes puberty to happen?
Sex hormones are released from the ovaries or testes which act as chemical messengers.
These hormones trigger physical changes.
Where are male sex hormones made?
In the testes.
Where are female sex hormones made?
In the ovaries.
How do hormones travel around the body?
In the bloodstream.
