Can the board of medicine impose liabilities such as giving of fines, imprisonment, or damages?
no, all they can impose are reprimands (suspension or revocation)
what are the types of administrative liabilities?
Reprimand
Suspension of license (no longer than 2 years)
Revocation of license
what are requisites for reinstatement of medical license?
- 2 yrs after surrendering license
- must have acted in an exemplary manner in the community
- no illegal, immoral or dishonorable act committed
what are the different criminal acts as grounds for administrative liabilities?
- conviction of criminal offense involving moral turpitude
- fraud in the acquisition of the certificate of registration
- performance or aiding in criminal abortion
- knowingly issuing a false medical certificate
- aiding or acting as dummy unqualified or unregistered person to practice medicine

- immortal or dishonorable conduct
- insanity
- gross negligence, ignorance or incompetence resulting in an injury death of a px
- addiction to alcoholic beverages and rendering him/her incompetent to practice medicine

- spreading any news or rumor which is derogatory without justifiable motive
- there should be a risk to the physician’s life when refusing to attend in cases of refusal to attend to a px in danger of death when there IS NO RISK at physician’s life
