- primary energy source for the body cells
Oral glucose is administered to a pt. with:
-a history of diabetes who is suspected if having a low blood glucose level.
Oral glucose is administered:
-It is absorbed in the mouth & through the intestines & eventually into the blood.
Activated Charcoal
is a fine black powder that is designed to absorb, or bind, an ingested poison to the charcoal.
Activated Charcoal works by:
after ingestion of a poison, the poison will be carried by the charcoal through the digestive tract & then eliminated in a bowel movement.
Aspirin is administered to a pt. who:
is having chest discomfort or pain that is related to the lack of oxygen getting to the heart.
