Ex. This, That, These, Those

What are the four sentence types? Give an example for each
Declarative
A sentence that makes a statement; ends with a period
Ex. The sky is blue in the city.
Interrogative
A sentence that asks a question; ends with a question mark
Ex. Where are my purple swimming shorts?
Imperative
A sentence that orders or tells someone what to do; ends with a period
Ex. Go clean your messy room now
Exclamatory
A sentence that says something with strong emotion; ends with an exclamation mark
Ex. I can’t believe I just won the contest!

Action
Brings life to a sentence
Ex. Mom WORE fancy heels to the wedding
Linking
Links the subject to a noun or adjective
“is” being used to describe or rename a noun
Ex. Lollipops ARE so sticky
Helping
“am” helps make the meaning of another verb clearer
