Perjury
i. the willful false swearing,
ii. regarding a material matter,
iii. while under a lawfully administered oath
- or-
i. subsequently giving conflicting testimony,
ii. to the same manner,
iii. while under oath.
Additional Punishments for Perjury
Person convicted of perjury cannot hold office under the VA constitution or serve as a juror.
Subordination of Perjury
Inducing another to give false, material testimony
- D can be punished as if she committed perjury.
Bribery
- A corrupt gift or offer of a gift
- to a public official or candidate
- with the intent to influence her official acts
When Accepting a Bribe is a Crime
If the recipient is a public employee, public official, or candidate for public office.
Obstruction of Justice
The attempt to intimidate a witness, officer of the court, or law enforcement officer
- or-
1. to knowingly and willfully
2. make false statements or representations
3. to a law enforcement officer conducting an investigation of a crime allegedly committed by another party
False Reports
i. knowingly giving reports
ii. with intent to mislead police officers
iii. as to the commission of a crime.
Concealing/Compounding Offenses
Taking money to compound, conceal, or not prosecute an offense
(certain exceptions for familial relationships with Defendant)

Willfully concealing or destroying evidence with intent to hinder prosecution of defendant charged with crime against another.
Resisting Arrest
Occurs When:
- D prevents a law enforcement officer,
- with or without a warrant,
- from lawfully arresting him.
