Kanryo Higaonna History
Born March 10 1853 Naha Aged 14 1867 to Fuzhou China Trained under Ryu Ryu Ko There for approximately 14 years Naha-te (or Tode meaning from China) Student was Chojun Miyagi Died Dec 1915 aged 63
Chojun Miyagi History
Born April 25 1888 Naha
1902 student of Kanryo Higaonna after first training with Ryuko Aragaki Sensei (who’s grandson Shuichi Aragaki trained at the Miyagi garden dojo starting 1951 alongside Anichi Miyagi ie only two years before Miyagi died).
After his Sensei died, 1915 went to Fuzhou China like his Sensei did before him, not sure how long he was there. He made 3 trips to China in his lifetime.
Jin’an Shinzato his top student and senior disciple died in the 2nd World War.
Died October 8th 1953
An’Ichi Miyagi History
Born February 9 1931 Naha
Aged 17 started with 3 friends at the Miyagi Garden Dojo in 1948
Also worked at Kadena USA Airforce base to support his family as his parents were dead
Died ? 2009
Shuichi Aragaki History
Born in Taiwan January 10 1929
Grandson of Ryuko Aragaki - Chojun Miyagi’s first Sensei who introduced him to Kanyro Higaonna.
1951 started at Miyagi garden dojo
