Q

Uses for polymers

A

Polyethene light stretchable ideal for packaging plastic bags and bottles and other containers

Polypropene very tough polymer relatively flexible and resistant to heat used make things like kettles food containers and carpets

Q

Why are polymers how to get

A

Before additional polymerisation polymers are inert as carbon carbon double bond very strong not easily broken

Means it takes really long time for addition polymers to biodegrade

Burning them releases toxic gases

Best thing is to reuse them as many times as possible and then recycle them
