Albert Bandura extended the behavioural approach and suggested that we learn through classical and operant conditioning and also observation and imitation.

Someone might see their friends smoking and may see this person as a role model and see that they may have a higher social status because of the activities they’re engaging in because they seem to be enjoying it.
