SUVAT equation linking v, u, a and t
v = u + a t
SUVAT equation linking v, u, a and s
v2 = u2 + 2 a s
SUVAT equation linking s, u, a and t
s = u t = 0.5 a t2
SUVAT equation linking v, s, a and t
s = v t - 0.5 a t2
SUVAT equation linking v, u, s and t
s = (u + v / 2) t
Symbols in binomial expansions
n= power r= term in the expansion a= first term in the bracket b= second term in the bracket
Symbols in binomial probability
n= number of trials
r= number of successes
a (q) = probability of failure
b (p) = probability of success
Conditions of binomial distribution.
1: The number of trials is fixed.
2: Each observation is independent.
3: There can only be one of two outcomes (“success” or “failure”).
4: The probability of “success” is the same for each outcome.
What is the equation of a circle?
(x – a) + (y – b) = r is the equation of a circle with centre
(a, b) and radius r.
What does SUVAT stand for?
S= displacement (distance) U= initial velocity V=final velocity A=acceleration T=time
What is the trigonometric identity for tan(x)?
sin(x) / cos(x) = tan(x)
What is the trigonometric identity for 1?
sin2(x) / cos2(x) = 1
What is the volume of a pyramid?
1/3 x base x height
What is the volume of a sphere?
4/3 x π x r3
What is the surface area of a sphere?
4 x π x r2
