Pleuritic chest pain - relieved by sitting forward
Non-productive cough
SOB
Flu-like symptoms
Pericardial rub
Tachypnoea
Tachycardia

Viral infections (coxsackie) TB Uraemia - causes fibrinous pericarditis Trauma Dressler's syndrome Connective tissue disease Hypothyroidism Malignancy

A
ECG:
global changes
saddle-shaped ST elevation
PR depression
Transthoracic echo

What management is given to acute pericarditis patient?
A
Treat underlying cause
1st line = NSAIDs and colchicine for acute idiopathic or viral pericarditis
