How is an acute ischaemic bowel managed?

A
  • NBM (reduced blood demand)
  • fluid restriction
  • analgesia
  • IV antibiotics
  • NG decompression
  • referral to surgery for possible bowel resection and/or revacularisation by interventional radiology plus decision on anti-coagulation.

THE PROGNOSIS IS POOR.
