Why was Stephen martyred?
- The thought he was teaching others to break the law 2. They claim he does not stop speaking against this holy place (the temple) 3. speaking against the land
How does Stephen defend himself?
Land no need by patriarchs, Moses predicts a prophet coming like Jesus; the tabernacle not the temple represented God’s initial plan for his people; concludes that all are fulfilled in Christ and Jews are the one disobeying God not him
How does Stephen resemble Jesus in his death?
he looks to the heavens and claims to see the flory of God; prays for his spirit to be received and to not hold the authorities’ sin against them

as a favor to jewish leaders he has James martyred and tries to do the same to Peter, but God releases him from prison

False. in scripture it said Lord would punish Herod. Josephus also mentions that Herod dies from supernatural causes
