Audition
monologue, sometimes a song, (and sometimes headshots)
Agent
representative; finds the actors auditions
Blocking
specified movement of where you are suppose to be on stage or on front of the camera
Call
(who)/when actors must show up; between call and show is for makeup and costuming
Callback
when they call you back for the first cut, after narrowing it down, or for a chemistry read
Cheating (Cheat Out)
turning your back to the actor and opening to the audience
Cross
a form of blocking; means to walk; (e.x. XD: cross downstage)
Downstage
towards the audience
First Position
the position of the actor as the scene begins
Headshots
pictures of your face (in different facial expressions, hairstyles, and outfits) for the casting director to remember what you look like
Marks
go to where you are suppose to be, places; all the way through the performance
Monologue
3-5min of a scene that shows your acting skill and range
Resume
past jobs, recommendations, ACTING EXPERIENCES, projects
Stage Left
always from the actor’s perspective
Stage Right
always from the actor’s perspective
