Q

Where does the energy for active transport come from?

A
  • Cellular respiration: (responsible for all energy that the cell uses)
  • A process which happens in the mitochondria where the glucose breaks down to release energy.

Q

Which plant cell does Active Transport usually occur in?

A
  • Root hair cells
  • Mineral ions which the plant needs at are a higher concentration inside the cell than they are outside in the soil.
  • This means that energy is required to absorb them by active transport, against their concentration gradient.
