Origin: supraspinous fossa
Insertion: greater tubercle of the humerus
Action: extend of flex and stabilize the shoulder joint

Origin: infraglenoid tubercle
Insertion: Teres minor tuberosity
Action: Flex shoulder, rotate laterally
Infraspinatus
Origin: infraspinatus fossa
Insertion: lateral side of the greater tubercle of the humerus
Action: extend or flex joint, rotate humerus
Weight bearing: prevent medial rotation, provide lateral stability to the shoulder joint

Origin: thoraculumnar fascia, last 7/8 vertebrae

Action: draw the limb caudally (digging), flex the shoulder

Origin: spines of the 1st seven thoracic vertebrae
Insertion: dorsal border of the scapula
Action: elevate the forelimb, draw the scapula against the trunk

Origin: median raphe of the neck

Action: to abduct the manus, flex the carpal joints, and support the carpus when extended to support weight

Origin: lateral epicondyle of the humerus
Insertion: proximal ends of the phalanges of digits (3,4,5); mainly the extensor process of the distal phalanges of these digits
Action: extend the carpal joints

Origin: lateral epicondyle of the humerus
Insertion: extensor process of the phalanges of digits (2,3,4,5)
Action: to extend the carpal joints
Extensor carpi radialis
Origin: lateral epicondyle of the humerus
Insertion: small tuberosities in the dorsal surfaces of the base of metacarpals (2,3)
Brachialis
Origin: proximal surface of humerus
Insertion: ulnar and radial tuberosities
Action: flex elbow
Biceps Brachii
Origin: supraglenoid tubercle
Insertion: ulnar and radial tuberosities
Action: flex elbow, extend the shoulder
Supinator
Origin: lateral epicondyle of the humerus
Insertion: cranial surface of the proximal 4th of the radius
Action: rotate the forearm laterally so that the palmar side of the paw faces medially , to flex the elbow joint
Long abductor of digit 1
Origin: lateral border, and cranial surface of the body of the ulna, interosseous membrane
Insertion: proximal end of metacarpal 1
Action: to abduct the 1st digit, and extend the carpal joints
Pronation Teres
Origin: medial epicondyle of the humerus
Insertion: medial border of radius between the proximal and middle thirds
Action: rotate the forearm medially so that the palmar side of the paw faces the ground, flex the elbow
Flexor carpi radialis
Origin: medial epicondyle of the humerus, medial border of the radius
Insertion: the palmar side of the base of metacarpals 2,3
Action: flex the carpal joints
Superficial digital flexor
Origin: medial epicondyle of the humerus
Insertion: palmar surface of the proximal end of the middle phalanges of digits 2-5
Action: flex the carpal, metacarpalphalangeal, and the proximal interphalangeal joints of digits 2-5
Deep digital flexor (3 parts)
Humeral head: origin: medial epicondyle of humerus
Ulnar head: origin: proximal 3/4 of the caudal border of the ulna
Radial head: origin: middle third of the medial border of the radius
Insertion: flexor tubercle on the palmar surface of the distal phalanx of each digit
Action: flex the carpal and metacarpophalangeal joints, and the proximal and distal interphalangeal joints of the digits

Attachments: applied surfaces of the radius and ulna
Action: to probate the paw

Location: palmar aspect of each metacarpophalangeal joint, in tendon of interosseous muscle
