Linking Verbs
A
Links, or joins the subject and the linking verb complement. Connects a subject with a word that describes or indentifies if it links the pronoun in the predicate part of the sentence.
EX: appear, were, grow, seem, look, been, are

Helping Verb
A
Added before another word to make a verb phrase.
EX: am, have, may, are, has, might, is, and, must, were, could, will, do

A
A group of words consisting of a preposition, its object, and any of the words that modify the object.

A group of words that functions in a sentence as a single part of speech.
Phrases do not contain and subject and a verb.
