Romeo hopes to see Juliet again after falling in love with her at the ball. Mercutio and Benvolio are unaware of his love and come looking for Romeo. Mercutio teases Romeo about Rosaline’s seductive beauty and Benvolio suggested that they both leave, as he is aware of Romeo’s love of solitude
What does Romeo jumping over the orchard wall show
By jumping over the wall, Romeo physically separates himself from Mercutio and Benvolio - a separation that reflects the distance he feels from society, his friends and his family
How does Mercutio tease Romeo in this scene and give a quote?
He refers to Rosaline as a medley fruit (female genitalia) and to himself as a poperin pear shaped like the male genitalia. This shows he does not see the spiritual side to love
