He also states how it was his own fault that his family died as he left them. Overall he just feels guilty and sad, and is mourning the loss.

Theme of Masculinity: Malcolm tells Macduff to dispute the loss like a man but Macduff questions the theme of Masculinity because he says that to be a man I must accept my emotions and face them too
Pathos: we feel sorry that Macduff has lost his family, and we can actually see his sadness as he feels immense guilt as if it was entirely his fault

Irony: At the beginning of the play Lady Macbeth states that a little water shall wash them entirely of killing Duncan as the blood will be gone. But here she is having hallucinations of blood on her hands and panicking because she cannot get rid of it.
Motif of blood: Lady Macbeth will always have blood on her hands

However, even though it was still true Macbeth will end up getting killed because of being too overconfident and trusting what the witches said.
