Act 4 Scene 1: an excerpt from ‘Mariana’s Song’ in which she acknowledges how she was wronged by Angelo

Act 4 Scene 2: the disguised Duke states to the Provost that Claudio is no more worthy of execution than Angelo
“Claudio, whom here you have warrant to execute, is no greater forfeit to the law than Angelo.”
Act 4 Scene 2: the disguised Duke claims that death is capable of concealing the truth
“Oh, death’s a great disguiser.”
Act 4 Scene 3: Pompey feels as though he knows everybody in the prison well as their were all clients of Mistress Overdone’s brothel
“I am as well acquainted here as I was in our house of profession.”
Act 4 Scene 3: an ironic line describing the entry of the disguised Duke
“here comes your ghostly father”
Act 4 Scene 3: the disguised Duke rejoicing as the ‘head-trick’ can still go ahead
“Oh, ‘tis an accident that heaven provides”
Act 4 Scene 3: the disguised Duke stating that he will lie to Isabella about Claudio being saved to make the revelation all the more joyful
“But I will keep her ignorant of her good / To make her heavenly comforts of despair / When it is least expected.”
Act 4 Scene 3: the disguised Duke telling Isabella about Claudio’s false fate
“He hath releas’d him, Isabel, from the world”
Act 4 Scene 3: Isabella assuring the disguised Duke that he can command her, mirroring Mariana
