Gloucesters speech: How does this speech change our view on Gloucester?
Going against what he’s been told to do by regan and cornwall, shows him as more headstrong and politically intelligent in the sense that he can see what is unfolding in the kingdom, he’s had news from france etc. Says he will go to help Lear and is still referring to him as king as well as putting his own life on the line to save and help Lear. Changes our view on him as previously he had let himself be overlooked as well as being seen as blind to his sons etc. HOWEVER, he’s shrill blind because he is telling Edmund about this secret letter. He is still blind because he told the wrong son.
