Q

“I’ll pour his pestilence into his ear”- Analysed.

A

Imagery of poison which fits his role as a villain. It is a definite statement which shows Iago has confidence in his power of manipulation. The Audience has no reason to doubt this.

The structure of this sentence makes it clear that Othello is to be the recipient and Iago is in control.

Repeated ‘P’ and ‘S’ sounds adds emphasis and intensity, tightening the tension for the audience.
