The 3 prophecy’s, chant, for Macbeth
‘All hail MacBeth, hail to thee, Thane of Glamis.’
‘All hail MacBeth, hail to thee, Thane of Cawdor.’
‘All hail MacBeth, hail to thee, that shalt be king hereafter.’ (Witches)
The three prophecy’s, for Banquo
‘Lesser than MacBeth, and greater.’
‘Not so happy, yet much happier.’
‘Thou shalt get kings, though thou be none.’ (Witches)
Ross calling the new Thane of Cawdor
‘He bade me, from him, call thee Thane of Cawdor’ (Ross)
Macbeth questioning wether or not he will become king because the second prophecy got fulfilled
(Aside) ‘Glamis, and Thane of Cawdor:
The greatest is behind’ (MacBeth)
Macbeth calling these supernatural things bad
(Aside) ‘This supernatural soliciting
Cannot be ill, cannot be good’ (MacBeth)
Macbeth says he will leave it to CHANCE wether or not he becomes king, he won’t do anything himself to fulfill the prophecy
‘If chance will have me king, why chance may crown me
Without my stir’ (MacBeth)
