Q

What are the pathways for development of Viral Myocarditis

A

i. Direct viral invasion phase
- Viruses gain entry via GI or Respiratory Tract and directly infect organs with organs with direct receptors particularly in the intercalated disks around AV node, infection induces injury and subsequent lysis.
ii.Innate response
- Toll like receptors which releases Cytokines followed by expansion of B-cell and T-cell
iii.Adaptive response
- Activation of T-vells and Ab to specific proreins leading to secondary cardiac damage.
