Acronyms Flashcards
ENGINE ALTERNATOR
INE
I - Ignition power to the exits during start
N - Ng signal to the cockpit
E - ECU power
- loss of alternator does not result in high side failure of ECU
HMU
PM CAN VETO
P - pumps fuel at high pressure
M - meters fuel in response to PAS, LDS, ECU & engine variables
C - collective pitch compensation through the LDS. When collective is moved, Ng is reset for immediate Np response.
A - Acceleration/Decel fuel flow limiting prevents compressor stall and flameout
N - Ng limiting. Limits MTA @ low temps
V - variable geometry positioning of the inlet guide vanes for optimum performance
E - ECU lockout. PAS override control w/ECU ions. Pilot can bypass TQ motor inputs
T - torque motor to trim Ng output. Fine tune engine output. Override through lockout
O - opens vapor vents for manual HMU priming, to remove air from HMU
STABILATOR
SCALP
S - streamlines w/rotor downwash @ low speeds (> 30 kts) to min. nose up attitude
C - collective coupling to minimize pitch attitude excursions from collective inputs, above 30 kts
A - angel of incidence decreases above 30 kts. to improve static stability
L - lateral sideslip to pitch coupling to reduce susceptibility to gusts. Stab up for right pedal, slab down for left pedal
P - pitch rate feedback to improve dynamic stability. Dampen pitch excursions due to turbulence or G forces
MMU
Collective to pitch - rotor downwash
collective to roll - translating tendency
collective to yaw - torque effect
yaw to pitch - lift component of tail rotor
DEC
IN FLT HHOT
I - Isochronous Np governing. DEC will maintain Np reference
N - Np reference from the cockpit
F - fault indication. DEC code sent to corresponding ENG Tq indicator
L - load sharing / torque matching. match TQ within 5% increase TQ of low side to match up to 3% Np above reference
T - transient droop improvement. 4-1 improvement to compensate for transient rotor droop
H - history counter. Maintenance function
H - hot starter preventer. Tells ODV to shut off fuel when TGT reaches 900 C (Ng < 60% , Np < 50%)
O - Overspeed protection. Triggered when Np reach 120% +/- 1%
T - TGT limiting. Limits fuel flow @ approx. 866 C. Contingency power (2.5 min) @ approx. 891 C (when other TQ < 50%)
ODV
HOPS
H - Hot start preventer
O - overspeed protection
P -purges main fuel manifolds and allows back flow of high pressure air for purging
S - sends fuel through manifold to injectors for starting and operations
