- Pituitary tumour (99%)
- Other tumour (e.g Pancreas / Lung) secreting Ectopic GH Relasing Hormone (GHRH)

What are the CF of Acromegaly? (9 things)
A
- Headache + bitemporal hemianopia (if tumour clarts optic chiasm)
- Profuse sweating (bc high GH)
- Frontal bossing (big forehead + brows)
- Big nose
- Big tongue (Macroglossia)
- Big protruding jaw
- Big hands + feet
- Organ dysf (hypertophic heart / HTN / T2DM / CRC)
- Arthritis from imbalanced joint growth

What investigations should you do for sus Acromegaly? (5 things)
A
- Basal GH levels
- Bloods (High Glucose / High Calcium / High Phosphate)
- MRI pituitary
- Visual fields + acuity assessment
- ECG / Echo (compare w old photos if available, to check for hypertrophy)

What are the management options for Acromegaly? (3 things)
A
- Trans-sphenoidal surgery (definitive treatment for Acromegaly caused by Pituitary tumours (99%))
- Somatostatin analogues to block GH release (e.g ocreotide)
- Dopamine agonists to block GH release (e.g Bromocriptine / Cabergoline)
