acquired disorders connective tissue Flashcards
name for well defined furrows at base of neck
cutis rhomboidalis nuchae (CRN)
What is favre-Racouchot
confluent plaques studded w comedones
often symmetrical, periorbital though can be unilateral
what the the single/multiple papules on ears called that are considered variant/presentation of solar elastosis
elastotic nodules of the ear
Name of the condition over lateral aspects of index finger/first web space/ ulnar aspect of thumb - due to chronic friction/photodamage
collagenous + elastotic marginal plaques (CEMP) of the hands
DDx for collagenous + elastotic marginal plaques of the hand
Remember BMAFS CT + CDAG for focal keratodermas
Marginal papular keratodermas (acroelastoides, focal acral hyperkeratosis, spiny keratoderma)
DDx of colloid milia
Adult colloid milium (multiple, symmetrical, assoc w sun expoure)
Juvenile colloid milium (onset pre-puberty, familial, secondary to UV-ind degeneration of KCs)
Nodular colloid degeneration (usually solitary on face/scalp/chest)
Acrokeratoelastoides of Costa (hands + feet, black skin)
Collagenous + elastotic marginal plaques of the hand
Nodular amyloid
What are non-UV related causes of cutaneous atrophy?
Steroids Strip Poikilodermatous Scars Away And (FLA) (always) Heal Promptly + Properly
- corticosteroid atrophy
- striae
- poikiloderma
- atrophic scars
- acrodermatitis chronicum atrophicans
- atrophodermas (FLA - follicular, linear, atrophoderma of Pasini + Perini)
- paroxysmal haematoma of finger
- panatrophy
- Parry-Romberg
Risk factors for striae?
Pregnancy, rapid growth in adolescence, steroid use (oral/topical), Marfan’s, Cushing
What are inherited poikiloderma syndromes?
Kindler Dyskeratosis Congenita Bloom Rothmund Thompson Cockayne Acrogeria
what are acquired causes of poikiloderma?
poikiloderma of Civatte Post XRT/heat/cold poikilodermatous MF post inflammatory (eg LP systemic autoimmune (DM, LE, systemic scleerosis)
