Both small and large states had to work together for the government to function
How will the states and the people be represented in the new government?
There will be two parts of the congress, the senate and the house of representatives. For every 30,000 people in a state there is 1 house of representatives, and there are 2 senators per state.
Should enslaved people count toward a state’s population?
Every 5 enslaved citizens counts as three people.
How can we guarantee this new, strong government will not abuse its power and infringe on the rights of the people?
They added the constitution which were rules made for the citizens to follow.
Where should the new nation’s government be located?
It was located on the Potomac river in the district of Columbia which the decided wouldn’t be a state to avoid the northern and southern bias.
