What is an acid?
an acid is a substance with particular chemical properties including turning litmus red, neutralizing alkalis, and dissolving some metals; typically, a corrosive or sour-tasting liquid of this kind.

An alkali is a compound with particular chemical properties including turning litmus blue and neutralizing or effervescing with acids; typically, a caustic or corrosive substance of this kind such as lime or soda.
What does corrosive mean?
A corrosive substance can destroy metals, stonework
and skin.
What does diluted mean?
A substance that has had water added to it to make it less concentrated.
What does explosive mean?
An explosive substance reacts very fast, giving out a lot of energy and making a lot of noise and gas. Heating
may cause an explosion.
What does flammable mean?
A substance catches fire easily.
What does hazard mean?
Something that could cause harm.
What does irritant mean?
An irritant substance causes skin and eyes to be sore or sting.
What does concentrated mean?
A solution that contains a large amount of solid (solute)
dissolved in a small amount of liquid (solvent).
