1.Dial 999
2.Check that mouth is not blocked
3.Tilt head back to clear airways and check for 10 seconds - hold hand close to nose and mouth

  • Place heel of hand in centre of the chest
  • Place hands on top of the other and interlock fingers
  • push down by 5-6cm
  • Repeat at 120bpm
  • Administer 2 rescue breaths

Rescue breaths

A

-Head tilted backwords
-Pinch nostrils together
-Blow into mouth until chest rises
- Continue until casualty starts breathing or help arrives

Burns

A

Douse burn using clear non toxic liquid e.g. water
- Cool burn for at least 10 minutes
- don’t remove anything sticking to the burn

Bleeding

A

Check there is nothing in the wound - if there is leave it there
Apply pressure (around object) and raise above heart level

A

-Pale grey skin
- Sweating- rapid pulse
- Rapid shallow breathing

- Reassure constantly - Keep them warm - Avoid leaving them alone - Avoid moving them if possible
