What is verbal irony?
A figure of speech in which the intended meaning of a statement differs from the meaning that the words appear to express.
What is tone?
Tone is the expression of the writers attitude toward the audience.
What is a phrasal verb?
A phraseology verb is a type of compound verb made up of a verb and a prepositional adverb.
What is an allusion?
A brief, usually indirect reference to a person, place, or event~ real or fiction
What is connotation?
Something suggested or implied by a word or thing, rather than being explicitly named or described
What is denotation?
A word than names or signifies something specific
What is contrast?
To compare in order to show unlike eps or differences.
What is repetition?
To repeat over and over
What is a memoir?
A record of events written by a person having intimate knowledge of them and based on personal observation
What is theme?
Theme is why the author was trying to get out from writing his/ hers story
What is parallelism?
Is a balance within one or more sentences of similar phrases or clauses that have the same grammatical structure
What is the authors purpose?
Authors purpose is the “why” for why the author wrote what he/she desired
