Compare
Saying how two or more things are the same.
Ex-Compare blue and red.
Blue and red are both colors.
Cause
The thing that made something happen.
Ex: Eating too much food was the cause of my stomachache.
Effect
The result of.
Ex: I lost my glasses and the effect is I cannot see very much.
Label
To place a name to something.
Ex: I need to correctly label to the definitions.
Compose
To write or create.
Ex: You need to compose a personal letter to a friend as if you were a character in the story.
Arrange
To put in a certain order.
Ex: I need to arrange the dates in a time line from oldest to most recent from left to right.
modify
To make a change.
Ex: I need to modify my mistakes before I turn in my final draft to my teacher.
Infer
To understand something with only the information given.
Ex: I could infer my mother was mad by the way she looked when I broke her favorite cup.
sequence
To put in the order of events.
First, next, then, last….
Outline
A basic plan, but not many details.
Ex: Create an outline for a story.
Conclude
To bring something to an end or have an opinion based off of text details.
Ex: Based on the passage, what can you conclude was the main reason for ____?
Support
Use details from the text to back up your answer or opinion.
Design
Create
Predict
Make a guess about the future based off of what you know now.
Distinguish
Recognize a difference or differences.
