deviance refers to behaviors, actions, or conditions that violate societal norms, rules, or expectations.

A behaviour that breaks the law and for which you are punished by the legal system.

Odd behaviour- behaviour that is odd or different from most ,e.g middle aged man playing with his dolls
Bad behaviour- deviant because it is bad
Why is deviance hard to describe
-Because what is considered deviant can vary greatly depending on culture, time period, and social context.
- People’s perceptions of what is deviant can be influenced by personal opinions, biases, and experiences
-The context in which an action takes place can affect whether it’s considered deviant.

Cb is a form of deviance that involves serious, harmful acts that are wrong against society, these harms are considered so disruptive that the state must intervene on behalf of society
