Give the guideline to writing an abstracts or summary.

  1. Read the text at least twice until you understand it.
  2. Highlight key ideas and phrases.
  3. Annotate them.
  4. State the author’s name, the name of the passage and the main ideas in the beginning passage.
  5. Use words or phrases indicating that you are presenting an abstract or precis.
  6. Write the main idea of each paragraph in your own words.
  7. Do not copy paste a single sentence from the original text.
  8. Combine the main ideas to one paragraph.
  9. Refrain from adding comments about the text.
  10. Edit you abstract by eliminating redundant ideas, and make sure it contain the properties of a well written abstract.
  11. Compare your output with the original text to insure accuracy.
