Describe Abraham in Christianity + Judaism (the story)
- Abraham was the first Jew
- Ismail (son) and Hagar (wife) are banished and Sarah (wife) and Isaac (son) are living with Abraham
- Abraham is asked to sacrifice Isaac and Isaac is very confused
- God intervenes with the sacrifice at the last minute and Abraham sacrifices a lamb instead
- The story shows faith, trust, and devotion to God
Describe Ibrahim in Islam (the story)
- Ibrahim is not the first Muslim
- Sarah and Isaac are exiled and Ismail and Hagar are living with Ibrahim
- Allah tells Ibrahim to sacrifice Ismail and Ismail is old enough to understand what is happening and says that if that is what Allah wants then that shall be done
- In the last second, Allah intervenes with a lamb/sheep
- Faith, trust, and devotion to God/Allah
What do the three belief systems all have in common about Abraham?
- Abraham/Ibrahim is the father of monotheism
- He is a prophet and speaks directly to God

- Jesus does not appear in the Old Testament but the New Testament focuses on Jesus and his teachings
