Barge carrying ocean vessels known as LASH (Lighter Aboard Ship) vessels.

BACO Liner Ships (Barge & container) barges inside a larger ship allow cargo to be discharged while at anchor mid-stream.

  1. Measures aimed at the prevention of accidents, causalities, and environment damage from ships.
  2. Recognize accidents do happen and try to mitigate their negative effects.
  3. Concerned with the aftermath of accidents and, in establishing a mechanism for ensuring those affected will be compensated.

International Convention on Load Line, sets the maximum depth to which a ship could be loaded.

Convention on the International Regulations COLREG, traffic situation, safe speeds, risks of collisions.

International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea SOLAS, specify minimum standards for construction, equipment and operation of ships.

MARPOL convention covering prevention of pollution
