The name crooks is ironic becuase, the word ‘crrok’ is associated with criminality or thievery’ but the irony is that his identity was stolen by society.
Why does crook keep his room neat
Its a source of pride, tell us he is a prideful character
Why is crooks staying in loneliness and the Cyclical nature of existsence
When lennie enters crooks room, crooks responds with hostility, depicting the damaging effects of isolation. When he stiffens his back and scowls, this implies his insecurity about leaving this cyclical life. By staying isolated, he is destined to never leave the Cyclical Nature Of Existence.
What are traits of crooks(6 traits)
Miserable, insecure, oppressed, territorial, lonely, aggressive. A result of Racial discrimination. Crooks physical appearance is also demonstrated thriugh his trauma.
Why was crooks separated from the others?
This is because this is the long-lasting effects racial discrimination. Crooks is oppressed because of his skin color. Segregation was prominent in the 1930s which meant Crooks could not live, sleep or eat with the whote ranch workers. This tension between crooks and the ranchers is only fueled by the racial slurs and derogetary language to show their superiority
