COEIN
coagulopathy
ovulatory dysfx– PCOS, postmenarchal/premenopausal transition

iatrogenic– HRT, contraceptives, anticoagulants

PALM
Polyps
adenomyosis
leiomyoma (fibroids)
malignancy & hyperplasia
what is the normal cycle length?
24-38 days
how much can cycle lengths differ for it to be a normal diff?
no more than 7-9 days
what is the normal duration for menses?
< 8 days
what is considered normal menses quality?
it doesn’t interfere w/ quality of life; its subjective
what are lab studies to consider for AUB?
UPT +/- serum quantitative hCG
CBC
STI testing
TSH, +/- prolactin, LH/FSH, coagulopathy labs
when would you want to add serum quantitative hCG to your UPT labs?
if considering ectopic or spontaneous abortion
what labs should you definitely order if considering ovulatory dysfx or endocrine d/o as cause of AUB?
TSH, LH/FSH
coagulopathy labs
+/- prolactin
