A condition that affect how your brain functions.
Neurodevelopmental disorders
The disorders that are usually present at birth and that negatively affect the trajectory of the individual’s physical, intellectual, and/or emotional development.
Intellectual developmental disorder
An umbrella term used when children are significantly delayed in two or more areas of development.
Global developmental delay
An individual’s who are experiencing of a neurodevelopmental disorder. but do not meet the full diagnostic Criteria
Unspecified developmental disorder
Refer to someone having difficulty with: Getting their meaning or messages across to others (expressive language) understanding the message coming from others (receptive language)
Language disorder
Difficulty or delay in the development and/ or production of speech, including single sounds, single words or connected speech.
Speech sound disorder
A speech condition that disrupts the normal flow of speech
Childhood onset fluency disorder
Refers to marked challenges with both nonverbal and verbal communication skills used in social settings
Social (pragmatic) communication disorder
This category is for those who have symptoms of a communication disorder but who do not meet all criteria, and whose symptoms cause distress or impairment
Unspecified communication disorder
Have problems with social communication and interaction, and restricted or repetitive behaviors or interests
Autism spectrum disorder
One of the most common mental disorders affecting children. Inattention ( Not able to keep focus), hyperactivity (excess movement that is not fitting to the setting) and impulsivity (hasty acts that occur in the moment without thought)
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder
Assigned to individuals who have symptoms of AD/HD, which cause distress or impair social, educational/ occupational, or other vital areas of functioning, but they do not meet the complete diagnostic criteria for AD/HD
Other Specified Attention -Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
Refers to a situation where an individual is exhibiting symptoms of ADHD but does not fit neatly into one of the three subtypes ( inattentive, hyperactive -impulsive, or combined type)
Unspecified ADHD
A disorder in one or more of the basic psychological processes….
Specific learning disorder
Also known as dyspraxia, is a condition affecting physical co-ordination. It causes a child to perform than expected in daily activities for their age, and appear to move clumsily
Developmental coordination disorder
Is a condition in which a person makes repetitive purposeless movements.
Stereotypic movement disorder
Is a neurological disorder that may cause sudden unwanted and controlled rapid and repeated movements or vocal sounds called tics.
Tourette disorder
A condition in which a person experiences single or multiple occurrences of either motor or verbal tics, but not both, for a period lasting more than one year
Persistent (chronic) motor or vocal tic disorder
Have one or more motor tics (for example, blinking or shrugging the shoulders) or vocal tics (for example, humming, clearing the throat, or yelling out a word of phrase)
