abiotic and biotic factors Flashcards
abiotic facters are the non-living factors for example..
moisture leve;
light intensity
temperature
carbon dioxide level
wind intensity and direction
oxygen level
soild ph and mineral content
if there is a increase and decrease in abiotic factor is a change in environment what can this affects?
size of population in a community
what can happen if there was a decrease in a mineral content of soil
affects the growth of a plant species
can cause a decrease in population size of plant species
a decrease in plant population could affect any animal species that depend on it for food
BIOTIC FACTORS ARE
living factors in an environment so a change in biotic factors can also affect the population size which can also affect the species that depend on it
biotic factors include..
competiition =one specie may outcompete another so that numbers are too low to breed
new predators =animals that kill other animals
availability of food =less food availabe polutions of the organism decrease
new pathogens =can quickly decrease a population of an affected species (microorganism that cause disease)
