Anterior region of pubic symphysis
Insertion of rectus abdominis?
Cartilages of 5th to 7th ribs, xiphoid process of sternum
Innervation of rectus abdominis?
Intercostal n. (T5-T12)
Actino of rectus abdominis?
Flexes trunk, compresses abdomen, stabilizes pelvis
Origin of external oblique?
5th to 12th ribs (outer surface)
Insertion external oblique?
Linea alba, pubic tubercle, anterior iliac crest
Innervation external oblique?
Intercostal n. (T7-T12)
Action of Internal and External oblique?
Unilateral: Ipsilateral flexion of trunk, contralateral rotation of trunk
Bilateral: flexes trunk, compresses abdomen, stabilizes pelvis
Origin of internal oblique?
Thoracolumbar fascia (deep layer), iliac crest (intermediate line), anterior superior iliac spine, iliopsoas fascia
Insertion of internal oblique?
10th to 12th ribs (lower borders), linea alba (anterior and posterior layers)
Innervation of internal oblique and transversus abdominis?
Intercostal n. (T7-T12)
Iliohypogastric n.
Ilioinguinal n.
Origin of Transversus abdominis?
7th to 12th costal cartilages (inner surfaces), thoracolumbar fascia (deep layer), iliac crest, anterior superior iliac spine (inner lip), Iliopsoas fascia
Insertion of transversus abdominis?
Linea alba, pubic crest
Action of transversus abdominis?
Unilateral: ipsilateral rotation of trunk
Bilateral: compresses abdomen
Origin of lateral head, rectus abdominis?
Crest of pubis to pubic tubercle
