Rectus abdominis origin, insertion and action?
O - Superior: xyphoid process and costal cartilages
I - Inferior: pubic crest
A - Trunk flexion
External oblique abdominal origin, insertion and actions?
O - Posterior: outer surface lower 8 ribs
I - Anterolateral: iliac crest and linea alba
A - bi = trunk flexion, uni = contralateral trunk rotation
Internal oblique abdominal origin, insertion and actions?
O - Inferior: inguinal ligament, iliac crest, TL fascia
I - Superior: lower ribs and costal cartilages and linea alba
A - bi = trunk flexion, uni = ipsilateral trunk rotation
Transverse abdominal origin, insertion and action?
O - Posterolateral: TL fascia, lower ribs, anterior iliac crest and inguinal ligament
I - Anterior: linea alba and pubic crest
A - stabilise trunk, increase intra-abdominal pressure
Quadratus lumborum origin, insertion and actions?
O - Inferior: iliac crest
I - Superior: 12th rib and lumbar transverse processes
A - bi = stabilise lumbar spine, uni = ipsilateral LF
Innervation of all abdominal wall muscles?
Ventral rami spinal nerves
