  1. listen to all 4 quadrants
  2. listen up to 2 min
    Normal: gurgling, Abnormal, tinkling, Absent, ileus

  1. Ask about pain
  2. Look for signs of discomfort
  3. Do all 9 areas
  4. Tenderness
  5. Rebound tenderness- pain worse on releasing pressure
  6. Guarding- involuntary tension in the abdominal muscles
