Word Classes*
[A]
Adverb: a word or phrase that modifies or qualifies an adjective, verb, or other adverb or a word group, expressing a relation of place, time, circumstance, manner, cause, degree, etc. (e.g., gently, quite, then, there ).

Attribute: a noun that means a quality or characteristic that someone or something has
[AV]
Auxiliary Verb: a verb that is used with a main verb to change its tense, mood, or voice. Auxiliary verbs can also help to clarify if the verb is active or passive, or if it takes on a specific mood.

Bound Form: a linguistic form that never occurs by itself but always as part of some larger construction, as -ed in seated.

Conjunction: a word used to connect clauses or sentences or to coordinate words in the same clause (e.g. and, but, if ).
[CV]
Coverb: A coverb is a word or prefix that works with or resembles a verb, and has characteristics of both verbs and prepositions

Equative Verb: link two nouns or two noun phrases, as in “I am a teacher

Interjection: a word or phrase that conveys emotions, reactions, or nuances in a communication.
[IE]
Idiomatic Expression: phrases that convey a figurative meaning that goes beyond the literal meaning of the words.

Localizer: a word that indicates the relative position of an object in space or time (e.g. up, down, front)
[M]
Measure: when a noun is qualified by a numeral or demonstrative.
[MA]
Moveable Adverb: the capacity of an adverb to function from various positions in the same sentence.
[N]
Noun: a word (other than a pronoun) used to identify any of a class of people, places, or things (common noun), or to name a particular one of these (proper noun).

Particle: a word that conveys grammatical meaning without having lexical meaning (e.g. le, ma, de, a)
