FMLA
Family Medical Leave Act - unpaid job protection for your own serious health condition, care of a family member or child bonding
STD
Short term disability - % of pay for being out of work and unable to perform the material functions of ones job duties. Typically short term disability has a max duration of 13, 26 or 52 weeks (max duration is plan specific); transitioning into LTD if needed.
LTD
Long term disability - % of pay for being out of work and unable to perform the material functions of ones job duties; typically after a waiting period of 60 or 180 days.
NYPFL
New York Paid Family Leave - State benefit allowing up to 12 weeks of pay benefits for child bonding, care of family member or military contingency leaves. NYPFL benefits are a weekly benefit of 67% of pre-disability earnings (up to a max of $1,068.36 in 2022)
NYDBL
New York Disability Benefit Law - State benefit allowing up to 26 weeks of pay up to $170 a week max benefit. NYDBL is for employee’s own serious health condition only.
NJTBD
New Jersey Temporary Disability Benefits Law - Non-Occupational short term disability plan funded through a tax supported state fund
PFML
Paid Family Medical Leave - CT, MA, WA state leave for ones own serious health condition, care of family member or child bonding. Leave options/qualifying reasons vary by state as well as qualifying family members.
TAM
Total Absence Management - Unified approach to tracking and managing planned and unplanned absences. TAM is an internal term and should not be used with callers. Sample leave types include: military leave, jury duty, bereavement leave, personal leave, educational leave, parental leave and more

Clinical nurse / nurse clinician. Review medical information for the claim when requested/referred by case manager.
